I have the CPC, COC and the Approved Instructor certification from AAPC. I also have my BS in Education.
I teach a 16 week medical coding training program. I am an Approved Instructor, and I license and teach AAPC's curriculum. My course includes live instruction once week through Zoom, which is essential for success. For a full description and to see everything else included in the course GO HERE.
I have the Approved-Instructor certification from AAPC and I license their curriculum to teach. So that basically means that AAPC gives me the course materials/teacher resources, but I set up my program in the way that I think will be most beneficial to my students.
My program includes live instruction through Zoom, recorded lectures, practice exercises and in 2025 I am adding a podcast for my students to listen to the recorded lectures in a different format if they'd like.
My program includes a more personalized approach than most programs out there. I take time to get to know my students in the Zoom meetings and help my students all throughout the course. Not all programs include live instruction, which I believe is necessary to learn medical coding.
It is not required but strongly recommended to take a medical terminology/anatomy/pathophysiology course before signing up for my medical coding training course.
