FAQ section
No, you don’t need to be in a course. This is meant to support beginners at any stage.
That said, having access to your coding books (especially CPT and ICD-10-CM) is highly recommended. Many Notes include examples or tips that make more sense if you can look them up in your book while following along.
If you don’t have coding books yet, you can usually find the CPT and ICD-10-CM manuals on AAPC’s website or through Amazon. I recommend the current year’s version for the best experience.
Each month, you'll receive one focused resource, like a flashcard set, tip sheet, or coding walkthrough. It’s all created to support your learning in a low-stress, beginner-friendly way.
You can cancel anytime from your account settings. You'll still have access through the end of your billing period.
Yes, you’ll get access to all available content while you’re subscribed.
No. This is not the same material. My full coding course is a complete program with structured lessons, live support, and assessments.
Notes to New Coders is a separate, low-commitment subscription. Some topics may overlap, but each Note is rewritten and simplified for beginners who want short, focused support, not a full course.
If you ever feel ready for more guided learning, I do offer a full course. For more info on that GO HERE.
💡Welcome to Notes to New Coders! I’m so glad you’re here.
This subscription is for future coders who want to learn in short, focused sessions, without feeling overwhelmed. Each month, I’ll release three new resources designed to help you build real skills step by step. You might see:
Flashcard sets
Tip sheets or terminology reviews
Short CPT or ICD-10-CM walkthroughs
Practical tools I’ve created to help students learn more confidently.
There’s no one right way to go through the material. You can review each Note at your own pace, revisit previous ones, or just jump into whatever feels useful to you that month.
🩹This set includes 30 beginner-friendly flashcards you’ll often see when with ICD-10-CM coding, a matching game and a list of common ICD-10-CM codes for the integumentary system.
🦴This system keeps us moving—literally. It includes all the bones, muscles, and connective tissues that support the body and allow for motion. In coding, you'll often see diagnoses related to fractures, sprains, arthritis, and injuries from overuse. This month, you’ll review important terms and learn how to confidently code musculoskeletal conditions, especially fractures, using the ICD-10-CM book.
🌬️This month, we’re focusing on the system that keeps you breathing! You’ll work through a fresh set of flashcards for key terms, take a short quiz to check your understanding, and follow along with a CPT coding walkthrough on common respiratory procedures.
Welcome to the Cardiovascular system!
Start with a quick-reference sheet of common cardiovascular procedures, then put your knowledge into practice with a coding question and full rationale. To tie it all together, there is also a step-by-step video walkthrough showing exactly how to find the correct answer.
Welcome to the Digestive System. Here you will find flashcards, a terminology quiz, practice ICD-10-CM and CPT coding questions and a coding walkthrough video.
Welcome to ICD-10-CM Guidelines Review
Listed below are a few videos about the guidelines, a short quiz on the general guidelines and 2 guideline tip sheets. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Below you find 3 videos about coding fractures, a short quiz and practice coding questions.
