This class is geared towards new diagnostic radiology coders, or coders in another specialty who want to learn more about diagnostic radiology coding.
How long is the course?
It is 10 modules (chapters) long. It can be completed at your own pace. How long it takes to complete depends on how much time you put into it daily. If you completed 1 module a day, that is a minimum of 10 days. You will have access to the course until December 2019.
No. Your login info is yours only and can not be shared with others.
Do I code reports in this course?
Yes. You will be coding sample x-ray reports that were designed to be as realistic as possible. However all of the reports included are HIPAA compliant and do not contain PHI.
How is the course formatted?
Each module contains 2 videos for the actual teaching of the lesson. After each lesson, you will complete a practice worksheet and also a module quiz. In some of the modules, there is also supplemental reading material, which is optional. At the end of the course, there is a course test and a survey to be completed so I can get feedback on the course. I can be reached for questions at any time, either through the closed facebook group (which is for my students only) or through email. My contact info and links to the facebook group are listed in the syllabus.
Does this count as CEU's towards my certification?
No. This is considered an introductory course and therefore is not eligible for CEU's.
Are you qualfied to teach me this?
Yes. I currently work as a diagnostic radiology auditor and have been coding for years. But coding was a career change for me. I graduated from Temple University with my Bachelors in Education a very long time ago. Even though I do not work in a school anymore, I still love to help people learn and share what I know to help others succeed. That is why I started designing these courses.
