So I’ve been sharing medical coding tutorials on Tiktok for a long time now. Usually I usethe coding books to walk-through different examples, but recently people have been asking if there is an electronic version of the coding books. Once you’re out there in the real world, your employer will most likely provide you with an encoder that you can use. But until you get access to an encoder, there are electronic versions of the coding books that you can use.

In the video below, I am using the electronic version of the ICD-10-CM book from AAPC.  I admit I was a little skeptical at first because I just like coding books. But the electronic version was easy to use and I actually kind of like it. Watch this quick video below:

If you want to try out the electronic version of this book, it can be purchased through the AAPC website.

Also, just for anyone out there that prefers the electronic version of the coding books–there is talk that eventually AAPC will allow you to use this version of the coding books for the CPC exam. I don’t know of an exact date of when that will be and using regular coding books will still be an option. When the time comes, AAPC will put out an official notice to instructors, but that hasn’t happened just yet. But I’m just putting this out there for anyone thinking ahead 🙂 To read more about the different books that you can use for the CPC exam GO HERE.
